ON WAR AND PEACE

No No No...... This is not a book review by Leo Tolstoy. I haven't got much around to even start reading it. It would take a lot of motivation for doing that. Its a blog on friendship. Its been a long time since I wrote anything. I am currently working on this brilliant project on mental health while I am staying in Aurangabad. And I am in Aurangabad for the first time in my life. I don't have any friends or relatives here, which is kind of a relief but it does get lonely sometimes. But I do get my work done. So its been a month and I already feel at home here.

I learnt a few things about this place. People are not actually happy calling it Aurangabad. Its Sambhaji nagar for many. It didn't matter much to me. But someone asked me if it would be OK if people called me Rabiya. First of all I haven't been tortured by Rabiya and I genuinely think Rabiya is a beautiful name, so I wouldn't mind. But yes that got me to think about us using our past to have conversations like this. Yes it is a vital issue. We need to like the name of the city we live in. How long will we keep arguing over it is the question?

And wars are a different story. I was worried for a friend living in Ukraine and texting her and asking her about the situation. She was stressed but life was pretty normal around her. The media does make a huge deal.

War is just a distraction according to me. From what you will ask. From the real problems. So its like if you hate a person, what does it mean? It means you don't want to be friends with that person or at the least be on good terms. Being friends with that person will actually mean that you care for that person and I tell you caring means being brutally honest with each other. So it would mean looking at your own "real" problems. Nobody likes that. So instead lets hate each other and be constantly at war. I don't want to solve my unemployment  issues or you know health problems like malnutrition which my friends will keep telling me about. So instead I be at war with them and see how I can sabotage their daily life. Then they will focus on taking revenge or protecting themselves and forget about their "real" problems like lack of water supply and air pollution.

Hate should be there. But for something that is unnecessary and harmful to all. But in reality the hate towards each other just adds on to the harm which we have created for ourselves.

I don't know how much of a public health blog this is. But I guess whatever we choose to do in our life, any decisions we take, our profession our hobbies our life partners, we choose to do it for the benefit of our health.

Be it physical or mental.

CHOOSE TO BE HEALTHY!
